The Absolute Worst # in Business

As business owners we want to FOCUS on quality over quantity because our Brand is attached to what we’re selling. So, once we get a client, especially as a new business owner, we are very excited and can’t wait to show our unique product or service.

Like everything in life there is a GOOD side and a BAD side.

Good side is we have a client and we’re making $$$$$.

BAD side….Let me explain.

Focusing too much on a Client

When beginning my first business, like many others, I reached out to potential clients daily

  • Thru sickness,

  • Busy schedule

  • And for new beginners, working a 9-5.

Once I finally got a client, I gave 100% focus on the new client and began to slow down on prospecting for new potential clients. Mannnn did I learn a VITAL lesson.

The first couple weeks, everything went well. Building a somewhat rapport with the client. I received amazing feedback with GREAT numbers, so I thought the client would be a repeating customer.

Well……… Was I WRONG. The client canceled our partnership and just like that my business SHIFTED……..

ALWAYS KEEP OPTIONS

A popular phrase that made sense at the time and in any business, is NEVER PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN “ONE” BASKET.”  Me depending on these clients to keep my business flowing for a while screwed me over.

Since learning that lesson,I always prospect 10-15 people per day, even if I’m currently working with a client or clients.Since then,  I’ve had no $$$ due to losing clients because I learned that the worst # in ANY business is “1”.

  • 1 client

  • 1 staff member

  • 1 stream of income

  • 1 anything

Always keep multiple options, just in case a client cancels or withdraws from your services or products.

Til next time,

Sir Roosevelt
